About MuKalk
MuKalk is an independent Estonian salary calculator in Estonian, Russian and English. It helps employees interpret a gross salary offer and helps employers estimate salary-related costs. It is not a service of the Estonian Tax and Customs Board.

What the tool provides
You can work from gross pay, a desired net amount or an employer budget, view each tax component, and compare two calculations. Historical rules are kept by year rather than replaced with the latest rate. Calculations run in your browser without an account or a database of users’ salaries.
How to assess a result
Use the worked calculation guide and the official sources linked from the calculator. The displayed result depends on your inputs: the tool cannot see your pension election, employer’s allowance application or actual payslip. It is an estimate for the employment scenarios supported by the form, not an official tax assessment.
How changes are maintained
The tax-rule file records a version and a verification date. Changes are released as a new static site version. Draft and enacted figures are distinguished in the page text; a site update date is not a claim that every tax rule was checked again. Calculation checks cover rounding, reverse calculations, allowances and published examples. These checks help catch software mistakes but do not make every personal situation supported.
Recent site changes
13 October 2026: added comparison of two calculations, a detailed worked guide and separate project/privacy pages. 7 October 2026: separated the language entry from the calculator pages. 4 October 2026: added optional, consent-based visitor statistics. These are product changes, not new effective dates for payroll legislation.

Please do not send personal identification codes, bank details or unredacted payslips. The same address accepts privacy questions.
Advertising and independence
The site uses Google AdSense advertising code and may display ads when Google permits serving. Advertising is separate from the calculation and does not change the tax formulas. An ad is not an endorsement by MuKalk. Details about advertising and optional Analytics are on the privacy page.
